The Integrated Design Engineering Program is pleased to announce its 2025 Alumni Engagement Medal winner, Beatriz Zepeda-Almazan.
Zepeda-Almazan graduated from the Engineering Plus Program (now Integrated Design Engineering) in 2019 with a degree that combined an emphasis in mechanical engineering with a concentration in engineering management. During her time at CU Boulder, she was a standout student, actively participating in the Engineering Leadership Program, CU Boulder swim and dive team, Society of Women Engineers, and Engineers Without Borders. Currently, Zepeda-Almazan serves as a manager of athlete science at Adidas, where she combines her engineering expertise and passion for innovation to lead international cutting-edge product development and research focused on enhancing athletic performance. Her dynamic leadership, commitment to mentorship and passion for integrating engineering and design make her an exceptional role model for current students and alumni.
The College of Engineering and Applied Science's Alumni Engagement Medal was established in 2021 for college academic degree programs and the BOLD Center to recognize highly engaged alumni who impact their areas through volunteerism and/or philanthropy. Each academic degree program and the BOLD Center is able to select one alumnus/a annually who has been significantly engaged during the previous year. Examples of engagement include outstanding volunteerism such as serving in a volunteer role, event and program support, student engagement, department/degree program advising, and/or philanthropic support.
