MS-DS Career Series

ISSS will host a general employment workshop in the School of Engineering covering the fundamentals of on-campus employment, CPT, and OPT. The session will help students learn application timelines, eligibility requirements, and the importance of obtaining authorization before engaging in practical training in the United States.

Career Month kicks off in February, and you’re invited to a DS Student Happy Hour!  The department will provide light appetizers, and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. We hope you’ll join us for an evening of community, conversation, and connection!

Come to our Data Science Alumni Panel, where you can meet recent alumni from both our residential and online programs. Learn more about their life after graduation, including their job search and transition into the workforce, and ask all your burning questions about post-grad life.

MS-DS HACKVERSE 2026

HACKVERSE 2026 is a 12-hour data science hackathon for MS-DS students—designed to challenge your skills, spark innovation, and connect you with industry.

When: February 20–21, 2026 (12 hours)
Where: ECCS 201 + Zoom (for remote and Coursera students)

What to expect:

  • Solve real-world data challenges
  • Network with industry professionals and explore internships
  • Compete for prizes (plus swag for all participants)
  • Free food and drinks for in-person attendees
