Bridge Team
The Bridge Team works to “bridge” the gap between the PLC student community and professional staff, the CU community, and other leadership programs across the state. This includes facilitating conversations and building understanding between PLC students and the student staff, professional staff & faculty, and other CU leadership. The Bridge Team is also tasked with "bridging" the divide that exists between PLC and other campus leadership organizations, working to collaborate across organizations to best serve all leadership students at CU Boulder. The Bridge Team is building an organic network of leadership students across the state by tapping into the resources of the Colorado Leadership Alliance, as well as, the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation. Lastly, the Bridge Team works to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusive measures are employed to increase the sense of belonging among PLCers. This team plans and hosts PLC Interview Days with the intention of building relationships with prospective scholars from the day they interview for the program.
Pay Rate = $3,000/Academic Year (pay may increase with repeated years on the team)
Ideal Candidates for this position will be:
- Very outgoing and excited to build relationships within PLC and with other organizations
- Willing to facilitate uncomfortable conversations
- Accessible to PLC students, Student Staff, Pro Staff, Faculty and Board Members
- Educated and willing to keep learning how best to bring DEI into all parts of PLC
- Persistent, undeterred
- Good at communicating via email, in-person
- Confident meeting with and networking with community members, businesses, board members, CU leadership
You will learn:
- How to talk about PLC as a vibrant community of peers, not just a program for high-achieving students
- How to talk about PLC as an organization willing to collaborate with others
- All about leadership development taking place across the campus
- Professionalism in-person and over email
- How to speak to and between PLC units (student staff, community, pro staff, etc.)
- To listen to your peers (both in PLC and out) and know what is important to them
