Mentor Program and Service Initiative Coordinator
The Mentor Program and Service Initiative Coordinator will be in charge of the logisitics, communication, and accountability for the three mentor programs in which PLCers are involved and the three service initiatives that have been started with our community partners. This position will be a part of the Experiential Team and will work closely with the Experiential Weekend Coordinators as well as the ALE Coordinator. However, this person works across all teams and engages with many other student staff members to coordinate, publicize, encourage, and support the mentor and service programs. As well as being a good program coordinator and communicator, this person will also oversee and support the team leads of each service initiative. This will include scheduling help, promotion, accountability, partner review, etc.
Additionally, this position will assume the role of our Colorado Leadership Alliance (CLA) liaison. You will communicate often and work with Megan Vivier and VJ Brown who run the CLA program for the Denver Metro Leadership Foundation. You will officially be the CLA, SSB, or Student Scholar Board member for PLC. You will be in charge of connecting PLCers to the Colorado Leadership Alliance events and opportunities available to our students. This includes mentorships, the CLA Summit, experiential weekends, and Denver Leadership days.
The current mentor programs that will be under the purview of this position will be:
- PLC Peer Leadership Connection (PLC^2) - Peer to peer (works with Senior Class Coordinator to make matches and plan events)
- PLC Alumni Mentors - Student to PLC Alumni connections (contacts alumni and helps students find alumni to foster connections)
- CLA Professional Mentors - PLC student to CLA paired Denver-based professional connection (provides PLC names for matching, helps with accountability of PLC students)
The current service project and community partners under the purview of this positions are:
- PB n' Luvin - Homelessness in Boulder
- Family Learning Center - Education and building relationships
- Thorne Nature Experience - Enviromental education

The primary objectives of the position are:
- Work with Senior Class Coordinator to match pairs and kick-off PLC^2 for the year; plans two events
- Works with CLA staff to match PLC students to CLA professional mentors
- Communicates with alumni to help find students; works with students who would like to find a good alumni match
- Supports and oversees all coordination and marketing efforts of the PLC Service Initiatives (3 volunteer team leads)
