The Internal Engagement Team coordinates and promotes activities that are a break from the academic requirements of PLC. The class coordinators have the monumental responsibility to build, promote, and encourage the community in ways that people WANT to come and socialize and participate in fun activities. The Internal Team attends weekly Student Staff meetings (Mondays 12-1), as well as meets as a team each week to align goals and support efforts pursued by one another. The Internal Team is the support structure to ensure consistent and increasing PLC student involvement.


Senior Class Coordinator

The Senior Class Coordinator has four primary roles:  1) Sending updates/emails/GroupMe to the senior class as the point of communication for the cohort 2) Plan First-Year Orientation with the Junior and Sophomore Coordinators, 3) Plan two semester events for the senior class, 4) Collaborate with the other class coordinators to create community events for all PLC students. The major events for seniors are a Senior BBQ in the fall and Year End Celebration that celebrates graduating PLC seniors. Event planning, attention to detail, and budgeting are all needed for this part of the role. The Senior Class Coordinator works with the Internal Engagement Team to plan community events for all cohorts. Working in teams and supporting other staff members’ projects is a significant part of this role. In addition to these the senior CC is responsible for sending updates/email to their class, attending staff meetings, and holding office hours.

Junior Class Coordinator

The Junior Class Coordinator has three primary roles:  1) Sending updates/emails/GroupMe to the junior class as the point of communication for the cohort 2) Plan First-Year Orientation with the Senior and Sophomore Coordinators, 3) Plan the Third Year Adventure Retreat, and 4) Collaborate with the other class coordinators to create community events for all PLC students.The Junior Class Coordinator has the job of promoting involvement in the program as formal requirements decrease. As the point person for communication, it must be strategic to be most effectively received by your peers. You must be intentional about collaborating with other class coordinators in creating programming and communication that promotes community between and within cohorts.

Sophomore Class Coordinator

The Sophomore Class Coordinator has four primary roles:  1) Sending updates/emails/GroupMe to the sophomore class as the point of communication for the cohort 2) Plan First-Year Orientation with the Senior and Junior Coordinators, 3) Plan, implement, and Community Dinners (monthly), 4) Collaborate with the other class coordinators to create community events for all PLC students. All efforts are in hopes of fostering engagements with each of your peers.

Freshmen Class Coordinator

The Freshmen Class Coordinator has four primary roles:  1) Sending updates/emails/GroupMe to the First Year class as the point of communication for the cohort 2) Encourage First Year attendance and participation in planned PLC community events, 3) Plan and implement First Year activities, 4) Collaborate with the other class coordinators to create community events for all PLC students. All efforts are in hopes of fostering engagements with each of your peers.

The primary objectives of the position are:

  • Develop opportunities for PLCers to connect and participate in PLC co-curricular events, i.e. Day of Service, Senior BBQ, Service Initiatives, Professional Ex Dinners.
  • Collaborate with other student staff members in implementing PLC community programs and events that may include: First Year Orientation, Second Year Orientation, Third Year Adventure Retreat, Senior/Director Meeting, Interview Days, Spring Huddle.
