Christopher Allison
Senior Systems Engineer III Sierra Nevada Corp. Space Systems • PLC 2009

Degree(s): Aerospace Engineering

Professional background, interests and expertise: I have worked for SNC nearly 7 years now and it has been an incredible career.  I have worked on satellites, space technologies, and now a cargo vehicle to resupply the ISS.  Currently I am the Federal Agencies Lead and landing site coordinator for the Dream Chaser program and I love every minute of it.  I span design, analysis, business development, and program management so I have exposure to many facets of the commercial space industry! I also have travel quite extensively (7 Continents, over 60 countries) so I have many perspectives in my personal and professional life that have shaped my approach on life.  Let me know if there is anything I can help you with in your career!

Best professional advice: Aerospace Engineering is more than space enthusiasts sitting behind a computer!  It is a dynamic, innovative, and fast paced environment with new challenges everyday.  Interpersonal skills are a must in order to work collaboratively with a team as well as the technical background to defend your ideas and designs. It’s also a great industry to get exposure to many different aspects such as design, business development, program management, and business in general. The best advise I ever got was to always think one level of responsibility above your current position.
