Professional background, interests and expertise: I currently run my own marketing company called Market Compass with the mission to help startups and small businesses accelerate their growth through marketing. I'm active in the Boulder Entrepreneur Community including serving as a Lead Mentor for the Boomtown Boulder Accelerator, serving as a Board Member for the Deming Center Venture Fund, volunteering with Boulder Startup Week, and serving as a mentor and startup competitive judge for New Venture Challenge. My interests include storytelling and film, and I'm particularly interested in the merging of art with entrepreneurship.

Best professional advice: My advice to students interested in marketing is to study storytelling. I think marketers should try to minor or double major in an artistic based field whether it be writing, film or something similar, as an understanding of storytelling will make them better marketers.
