Professional background, interests and expertise: I am currently an operations systems engineer on the Curiosity Rover. I have 4 years experience in the aerospace industry with work in both program management and traditional systems engineering. I also have some experience with software projects, and am ScrumMaster Certified. Personal interests include leadership and management theory, public health research and outreach, community based participatory research methods, educational outreach, and the general tinkering.

Best professional advice: I have always been a fan of learn something new from a completely different industry. The only way to do this is to volunteer your time, be uncomfortable not being the expert in the room, and be actively engaged. You will pick up skills that can apply in so many circumstances you won't foresee.
