Anne Henderson
Director of Client Services at Healthnotes • PLC 1995

Degree(s): History & Anthropology

Professional background, interests and expertise: Armed with my liberal arts degree I haveĀ  subsequently had a liberal arts career. The skills I learned in communication and critical thinking have been useful for jobs in PR, retail marketing, and now in software/Saas client services (I translate between our client business contacts and a cross functional team of engineers, creative, editorial and sales). I have worked in the supplement and health & wellness industry for over 15 years, first at a retailer and now as a provider of software to the industry. I have developed entire account engagement programs based on some of my anthropology course work at CU and this work has proven valuable for our account relationships and retention. My job requires a lot of travel both to client sites and to my corporate office since I work remotely. I love working with deeply curious coworkers and clients where we challenge each other, and I really enjoy mentoring and managing my team of consultants.

Hours available for mentoring per month: 4

Best professional advice: I thought my history and anthropology degree meant I had to be a teacher or a researcher. But the business and technology worlds need people with these degrees just as much as the academic world.
