Annabelle K. Lutz
Est. 2015

The Annabelle K. Lutz Voss scholarship is awarded to the two Assistant Directors of Experiential Learning. Students earning the Voss scholarship are upperclassmen and PLC student staff members who work hard to bring experiential and hands-on learning to the PLC community, thus highlighting leadership lessons beyond the classroom and the campus.

Annabelle was born in Kansas in 1918.  She grew up in Boulder, Colorado where, with the aid of a scholarship and a job, she graduated from the University of Colorado.  While at Colorado, she also met her future husband when a University of Kansas law student named Omer Voss visited her Lutheran Student Association chapter.  Although it was love at first sight, it would be another two years until they married after only four dates but countless letters.  Together  they lived around the world.  She made homes for her family in California, Australia, Great Britain, Canada and most recently in Illinois.

Annabelle travelled extensively during her 69 years with Omer and was a warm and welcoming ambassador with him throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
