Professional background, interests and expertise: I began my career as a teacher right out of undergrad, but quickly realized that to make an impact I needed additional training in equity and inclusion. I joined TFA and continued teaching, and I was fast tracked into administration. I was an academic advisor, activities director, dean of culture and now assistant principal. Personal and professional experiences led me to pursue an additional degree in social work, and I have clinical experience and will work toward my LCSW in the future. I’m currently the Director of Whole Child Education at my school as well, and I continue to be interested in social emotional wellness within schools and school systems.

Best professional advice:  Education is an entrenched and often systemically oppressed system, but working with brilliant and unique young people who are empowered to initiate authentic change is a privilege and offers great hope. Education is truly a place to make a difference.
