Alexis Scobie
Innovation Strategist, Idea Couture • PLC 2010

Degree(s): Political Science and Leadership, MSc in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management

Professional background, interests and expertise: After graduating from CU Boulder, I went on to do my Masters in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management at Imperial College in London. I now work at Idea Couture, a global innovation consultancy where I work as an innovation strategist. My role as a strategist is to help my clients develop human-centric solutions to their business problems. I am a generalist and I have worked across several industries from big pharma to consumer packaged goods. My team is comprised of strategists, anthropologists, and designers - and I enjoy working in an environment where analytical meets creative, business meets design, and foresight meets insights.

Hours available for mentoring per month: 12

Best professional advice: If you want to go in to consulting, I really encourage you to find the right consultancy for you. I know that when I was in college I got caught up on what I thought I should be in my career rather than what I wanted to be. I definitely can't say I have it all figured out, far from it! But I have found that when you find a job you love and one that you feel is meaningful, the days go by much faster! I would love to talk more about consulting, startups, innovation, design, branding, business strategy, etc. and help out in any way that I can.
