Undergraduate physics major Allie Plocki won an Outstanding Student Presentation Award at the recent American Physical Society’s Four Corners Section Meeting. The conference was hosted by Utah State University in October 2023.

Plocki’s presentation was titled “Two-color Rubidium Clock with AC Stark Shift Suppression.” Her research in Professor Thomas Schibli’s research group focuses on improving the precision of a rubidium optical clock for use in telecommunications and global navigation.

Plocki’s attendance at the conference was supported in part by the Jesse Kramer Undergraduate Travel Award. The fund was established by CU Boulder Physics alum Dr. Jesse Kramer (Phys’79) to encourage students to present their research at conferences.

Congratulations Allie!
