Michelle is originally from central Illinois. Prior to leaving the Land of Lincoln, she earned her undergraduate degree from Illinois College in English with concentrations in both Literature and Creative Writing, and her master’s degree from Benedictine University in Management and Organizational Behavior. After spending seven years in the world of Admissions, Michelle made the transition to Academic Advising, where she served as an advisor for English, History and Philosophy majors at the University of Illinois Springfield. It was in this role that Michelle discovered her true passion: helping student-support professionals develop in their profession. She worked as Manager of Advisor Training and Assessment at Utah Valley University prior to joining the Office of Undergraduate Education as Program Director of Advisor Training, Development, and Assessment.
In Michelle’s free time, she enjoys playing fetch with her dog Fitzgerald, reading (less for fun now that she is a PhD student), and playing local pub trivia with her husband (come join the Tubular Trivia Troubadours!).
