Engage. Learn. Grow.
Student service professionals require a set of professional skills, knowledge, and behaviors in order to effectively support CU Boulder students. In order to assist these professionals from across all academic units, the Program Director for Advisor Training & Development in the Office of Undergraduate Education, in collaboration with campus partners, CU Boulder colleges, schools, and programs, and the Council for the Advancement of Learning and Education (CALE), offer continued opportunities for skill-building, training, and professional and personal development.
While professional development and training come in many forms, these opportunities include workshops, certificates, training sessions, webinars, and more. Opportunities are intentionally tied to NACADA's competency framework. Learn more about the framework by following this link to NACADA's website.
Professional development helps individuals continue to not just be competent in their position, but excel in it. It helps ensure that knowledge and skills stay relevant and up to date and sharpens skills that can help individuals adapt to dynamic situations. And, engaging in, utilizing, and reflecting on such knowledge and skills means advisors, coaches, and student success staff members are providing the highest quality of care and support for our CU Boulder students.
We welcome all who desire to learn to attend any session of their choosing.
