Denee Janda
Assistant Director of Campus First-Year Advising Initiatives

Denée grew up in eastern Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she considered many degree programs before deciding to major in Communication Studies and with minors in Music, Geology, History, and Psychology. She continued her study of communication while pursuing an M.A. in Communication and a Graduate Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Resolution at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Denée taught collegiate Communication/Speech classes for eight years in Minnesota and Nebraska before transitioning to academic advising at CU Boulder. She has worked in various academic advising and academic coaching roles at CU since 2012.

When she’s not at work, Denée enjoys cooking; walking; reading; appreciating the outdoors; and spending time with her family, including her two dogs.
