Originally from Baltimore, MD, Aaron Roof graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1997 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and commissioned as an infantry officer. Aaron served in multiple leadership positions in both the infantry and special operations. In 2014 he transitioned to the University of Colorado Boulder to lead the Army ROTC program. He retired from military service in 2017 with a masters in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and became the Director of the Presidents Leadership Class. In 2019 Aaron joined the Newton Leadership Chair as director of programming to support the Chancellor’s top imperative to shape tomorrow's leaders.
