Sophomore and Junior undergraduates interested in enrolling in graduate school following graduation are encouraged to apply for the The McNair Scholars Program. The program prepares first-generation college students with financial need or from populations historically underrepresented in graduate study to enroll in and complete doctoral level study in their chosen academic field. CU Boulder McNair Scholars receive financial and academic support in undertaking undergraduate research, preparing for graduate school, and completing highly competitive applications to graduate programs in their field. For more information on the program, please visit the McNair Scholar website, email mcnairscholars@colorado.edu, and encourage students to attend a virtual informationa session. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2021.

CU Student Noah Kramer Selected as NROTC All-American

Noah Kramer, a senior studying Astronomy, and a 1/C midshipman (MIDN) at the University of Colorado NROTC Unit has been selected as the only Navy ROTC All-American by the Navy Federal Credit Union for 2020!  MIDN Kramer competed against over 300 other ROTC Units nationwide and was informed of his selection by CU alumnus and Green Bay Packers kicker, Mason Crosby. This is the second year in a row that CU students have been selected to receive this honor. Thanks to MIDN Kramer's selection amidst stiff competition, the students within the NROTC program have been given a $5000 award alongside his own scholarship of $6500.

Education Abroad and CU in DC Alumnus is Jefferson Award Recipient

Education Abroad and CU in DC alum Jake Reagan is one of CU’s 2020 Jefferson Award Recipients. Jake participated in the summer 2017 Global Seminar: Barcelona Literature & Culture (Barcelona, Spain) program directed by Professor Javier Krauel and Professor Juan Herrero-Senés from the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.  He graduated summa cum laude this spring with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Political Science. Jake has received multiple commendations during his years at CU. In addition to the recent Jefferson Award, Jake was selected as a Rhodes Scholar last November, the second CU Boulder student to win the award in over 25 years. Jake will continue his studies this fall at Oxford University. He also served as student body president from 2018 to 2019.
