The External Partnerships and State Engagement and Policy team identifies and develops strategic state, federal, nonprofit organizations, industry and community partnerships to further CU Boulder’s mission, and it partners with the CU System Office of Government Relations on state and federal policy priorities for the CU Boulder campus.

How We Help Faculty, Staff and Students

  • If you have an interest in engaging with local or state government officials or organizations we are happy to work with you to provide guidance on university protocols and policies, connections to local elected officials and entities, and connect any state and federal government requests to the CU System Office of Government Relations.
  • We can assist in identifying and connecting you with external government and community partners for research grant and program collaboration, in collaboration with partner offices such as Research and Innovation, and the system Office of Government Relations.
  • We will help you invite elected officials to campus, work with local community groups, or respond to questions from external constituents or policymakers, in partnership with the CU System Office of Government Relations.
     

When You Should Contact Us

  • When you have an event, class or meeting to which you would like to invite an elected official.
  • When you are interested in the campus taking a policy position.
  • When approached by a policymaker to provide testimony, information, or expertise to ensure you have all the tools and resources you need to assist them in their official work.
  • When you would like to provide testimony, information or expertise related to local, state or federal legislation, rulemaking or policy development.

What an amazing, whirlwind week at #ClimateWeekNYC. It was a rush of positive energy, insightful information and VERY promising new contacts to bring home to University of Colorado Boulder and #Colorado. Solutions include fusion, electrification and comedy! I think we can bring some of these ideas to our Colorado Climate Week in May 2027. Who's in to help build our very own amazing week based on our local needs and assets in the Rocky Mountain West? Thanks to old and new friends for so much fun and engagement!
