Green Lakes Valley
The Boulder Creek Critical Zone is one of six groups funded by the National Science Foundation to study how water, atmosphere, ecosystems, and soils interact and shape the Earth's surface. The Boulder Creek CZO includes the Green Lakes Valley as one of their main study sites (pictured above), which is shaped by glaciation and other erosional processes.
