I retired twenty years ago after a career of teaching mathematics, lastly at CU-Denver. I write mathematics textbooks and am the author of "How America Got Its Guns," a history of the Second Amendment. I am a Boulder native and was an avid rock climber for many years. I still hike and bike regularly in the mountains above Boulder.

You are probably at CU to explore career opportunities. Remember that whatever job you choose, you must not only enjoy it, but love doing it. So don't yield to social pressures or the lure of a high-paying job. Listen to your heart as well and choose a path you will truly enjoy walking.
