Tina Marquis
- Boulder City Council, Former School Board Member
I currently serve on Boulder City Council and help organize for the Democratic Women of Boulder County. Prior to that, I served my community on the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education, the last (and final) four years as President. I also spent 6 years on the inaugural Board for the Conference of World Affairs at CU. Professionally, I have an MBA and worked in marketing for both large companies and small local start-ups. I am looking forward to connecting more with the CU community.
My advice to students...
First, be kind to everyone you meet. The world is so small, and you never know where you'll meet people next. Second, try to put yourself in other people's shoes and imagine their experience, or why they might feel the way they do. Finally, in difficult situation, focus on goals, systems, outcomes or budgets, not individual people. This can help alleviate tensions.
