Teresa Taylor Tate
- City Attorney, City of Boulder

I've been a practicing attorney for 17 years. After a first career in education, I went to law school at the age of 30 and with a kiddo in tow. I litigated at a large law firm for several years, clerked for the Colorado Supreme Court, represented the Colorado Judicial Branch, and then went into local government law.
I am an adoring mom of three sons, a dog lover, and enjoy all kinds of arts. I'm also the first generation in my family to graduate from high school. I value education and have learned the importance of connections.
My advice to students is...
Be brave, be bold, and be yourself. The best leaders listen more than they talk. They inspire people to bring them along. Leadership can look a variety of different ways and happens on every level of an organization.
