I've been a software engineer/analyst for the last 25 years focusing on GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software design, development, testing, and deployment. I have worked in many roles at many places as a contractor and business owner and as a result, I have a very diverse toolset.

My advice to students...

Be humble.  There's always somebody who knows more than you about a particular topic.  Learn from these people.  And be willing to share your experiences with others.

Be curious.  Technology is constantly changing.  Keep current by reading and collaborating with other of like interest.

Don't take yourself too serious. Friends and family are most important.
