Sam Thompson
- Leeds Consulting Group

Sam Thompson is an Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics & Data Science major from Centennial, Colorado. He defines leadership as “bringing out the best in people through empowering and uniting them to achieve a common purpose and mission.”
Sam has exemplified this philosophy through his extensive involvement in the Leeds Consulting Group (LCG), where he served as Vice President of Operations and later as President. During his presidency, he overhauled membership policies, expanded events like the Flatirons Consulting Summit, and launched the first-ever Rocky Mountain Case Competition—now an annual tradition. His leadership extended beyond operations to mentorship, guiding peers and shaping the strategic vision of LCG.
In addition to his work with LCG, Sam has been active in the Leeds Investment and Trading Group and the Newton Fellows program through the Center for Leadership. His recommender describes him as “one of the most impressive and helpful students,” noting his ability to thrive in high-impact environments and his dedication to supporting others. After graduation, Sam will return to McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst, continuing his commitment to empowering teams and driving meaningful change.
