Michael Ellis
- Air Force ROTC

Michael Ellis is a Computer Science major from Colorado Springs, Colorado. He defines leadership as “the ability to foster a creative, collaborative, and competitive team—leveraging peers’ skills and experiences to accomplish the mission while caring for their wellbeing and success.”
Michael exemplifies this philosophy as an Air Force ROTC cadet, where he served as Cadet Wing Chief of A-Staff for a 285-cadet organization. In this role, he synchronized a 12-member staff, improved communication between cadets and cadre, and advised the Wing Commander to strengthen operations. His leadership extended to community engagement, overseeing stadium cleanup and tailgating initiatives that raised nearly $40,000 for cadet programs, and coordinating a 10-cadet engagement at Keesler Air Force Base to expand officer candidate exposure.
He is described as principled, service-minded, and committed to the success of others, noting his ability to mentor emerging leaders and deliver results through clear communication and disciplined follow-through. Whether leading in ROTC, engaging with the CU community, or cheering on Buffs Football, Michael strives to serve others and create environments where people thrive.
