My personal biography/journey...
Hi! I’m Meredith, and I’m excited to work with you!
Originally from a small town in Oklahoma – known for its federal prison and fried onion burgers – I made an 18-year stop-over in the Washington, DC, area before making a dream of living permanently in Colorado come true. I live in Colorado Springs with my husband and our two dogs, Annie and Lucy. (“Rescue” is the best breed!) Our own college student is home occasionally, too, when not at school at CU Denver.
I love spending time with family and friends, especially if we can be outside, movies, music, concerts, food, cooking, travel, college basketball (especially March Madness!), and stand-up paddleboarding. I am passionate about equality and human rights issues.
My professional/coaching journey...
The first 15 years of my professional life – and some since then – were spent in roles I sometimes barely tolerated, because I chased positions and promotions that my resume said I *could* do and *should* love versus paying attention to my strengths, values and wants.
Now, my personal mission is to fill our workplaces with professionals who are free to do what they do best, working toward a purpose that’s meaningful to them, in a place that values them for being exactly who they are. I believe no one should ever need to leave a piece of themselves at the door to be successful. Not at work. Not…anywhere.
When I look back, friends, family members and colleagues seem to have come to me for “coaching” for most of my life. After working in leadership, team and career development with and alongside professional coaches for more than a decade, I committed to developing my own professional coaching skills, so I can best serve the people I’m so lucky to get to work with.
In 2021, I completed training through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) to earn my Certified Professional Coach accreditation. In early 2023, I earned my first accreditation from the International Coaching Federation.
I am now living my purpose to support people just like you with Energy Leadership coaching!
Four succinct words or statements that describe my strengths, engagement with my clients, or passions as a coach...
Guide: I believe you have the answers to who you are, what you do best and what matters to you; I act as the mapmaker to help you discover and activate the best of yourself.
Authenticity: I believe we each have the right to be unapologetically, authentically ourselves while honoring the authenticity of others.
Energy: I believe the keys to success at work and in life include optimizing our “energy of doing” (how we each do what we do best) and choosing our “energy of being” (how we show up).
Conscious choice: I believe we each always have the power to choose – our perspectives, attitudes and actions.
Four words or succinct statements that describe my unique approach to life or recreation...
Fun: life’s too short to take ourselves too seriously!
