My personal biography/journey...
The first question I was asked to answer for this program was “what do I love?” And my answer was to travel. Had there been more time, I would have said to exotic places to go scuba diving. As you can imagine, covid has taken a toll on me. I grew up on the water, the Hudson River, in a town now called Sleepy Hollow, just north of New York City. I moved to the city when I graduated from college and after business school I worked in a couple of advertising agencies, one of which was a model for Mad Men. Preferring the client side, I moved into product management in the over-the-counter drug industry. I loved living in NYC – the intensity, the people, the art, the culture. In 2002, I moved to Boulder to marry my husband. It was a big change and, at times, not so easy a transition. To help find my footing in Boulder, I took the Authentic Leadership course at Naropa. It was in that program that I was first exposed to coaching and decided that was how I wanted to spend my encore career. Looking back on my time in corporate America, I wish I’d had a coach. It may have helped to smooth over some rough edges and would have certainly supported me to be a better leader and manager.
My professional/coaching journey...
In my coaching role, I work with executives and their teams to support their self awareness and leadership growth. I offer tailor made programs that often include assessments such as the Leadership Circle 360 and Emergenetics as well as Immunity to Change and Inner Critic work. After a varied career in business, I do my best to offer my clients what I wish I'd had as a leader and as a manager. My business background is a blend of corporate, small business and entrepreneurial experiences. I’ve led management teams running $100-$400 million brand franchises and have launched successful new products, e.g., Vice President New Products for the development and launch of Advil Cold and Sinus, and VP Marketing for Advil. As a strategic consultant and researcher, I helped create numerous brand strategies and positionings for start-ups to major consumer products. Linking my business experiences with a sustained commitment to learning and personal development and to my practice as an executive coach, I draw upon my successes and challenges to help clients optimize their leadership and their results.
