Katie Simmons

Katie Simmons is set to graduate in 2026 with a triple major in Psychology, Sociology, and Pre-Med studies, along with a minor in Leadership Studies and a Certificate in Health, Care, and Resilience. She is actively involved in several leadership programs at CU, including TRiO Student Support Services, Guardian Scholars, McNair Scholars, and PSI CHI. Katie also participates in SkoServe through the CU Volunteer Resource Center, researches student academic self-perceptions with The CU Social Neuroscience Lab, and is involved in the CU Boulder Pre-Health Program and Study Abroad Program. Beyond university commitments, she has interned with Project Foster Power, worked on various foster youth initiatives, and delivered a speech at her high school graduation about foster care and resilience. Katie plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology, focusing on epigenetics and intergenerational trauma in youth from child welfare systems.
