  • Retired Consultant

Jeannie Thompson has an extensive background in business, education, and health care, having worked in, and with, both large and smaller organizations – in both the public and private sector. Her main emphasis, after a number of years in the fields of epidemiology and virology, has been in university environments working with students and in the corporate world partnering with those seeking MBA education. She has collaborated with professionals seeking further formal or experiential education, women (and men) desiring mentoring experiences, and executives -- providing coaching services and assisting in career development and/or transition.

Her formal education is in the biological sciences, psychology, and business.   She has worked with numerous companies in both Colorado and Chicagoland.   Her undergraduate degree is in Zoology from CU Boulder, and she obtained two master’s degrees from Northwestern University – one in Counseling Psychology and the other her MBA.

Professional and leadership development for those with whom she works and interacts is, to her, paramount.  Her expertise is in organizational behavior and change, with some experience in mediation and conflict resolution.  Functionally, her strengths are also in marketing and strategy/planning – with much exposure to human resources environments and consulting within them.  She values good communication skills and enjoys connecting people, both personally and professionally.  Her career has taken different paths as she gained further education.  She values her variety of experiences -- both professional and volunteer.  She enjoys seeing others move in the professional and life directions that most appeal to and suit them.
