More than 50 years of professional engagement in public international organizations: as a junior USA USG diplomat at the UN, as a UN official, as a World Bank official, and as an NGO volunteer, advocate, and CEO. Active engagement in promoting and negotiating macroeconomic and health sector reforms in Sub-Saharan Africa. Teaching and mentoring experience, in Ghana as a secondary school teacher, in the USA as adjunct professor and as leader of a graduate student fellowship program.
My advice to students...
Do lots of networking; use your contacts; take risks; don't hesitate to make changes; hone your communication skills.
