Clifford Bosley
- Race Director BOLDERBoulder

Since June 1998, I have served as the Race Director of the BOLDERBoulder. The BOLDERBoulder is a passion and a labor of love. I am interested in recruiting and developing leaders, cultivating, and perpetuating a culture of creative thinking resulting in ideas and solutions, implemented by a core team focused on operational and
customer excellence, collectively in pursuit of staging “America’s All-Time Best 10K”. My involvement with the race began at its creation in 1979 when I was 12 years old. Growing up around the race, I attained a comprehensive understanding of the race by actively participating in every role within the organization, as well as being a participant and volunteer.
Prior to my work at the BOLDERBoulder, I was the Marketing Officer at the Bank of Boulder/First National Bank of Colorado leading the team responsible for our communications and marketing, aligned to our values and culture. One of the community concepts I got to pioneer, was the BOLDER Bicycle Classic, as the creator and first Tour Director. The event now exists as the Buffalo Bicycle Classic.
My advice to students...
Here are some leadership anecdotes and axioms, some authored by our founder, Steve Bosley, that have been gleaned through our work in staging the event:
- Success is doing the right thing over time.
- Develop and sustain a collective obsession for excellence in whatever you do.
- A person's effectiveness demands that you understand and confront your mistakes.
- Our goals have been and will continue to be advanced through imagination, intelligence, audacity, ingenuity and irreplaceable perseverance.
- If it ain't broke, fix it anyway.
- Discontent is cumulative.
- Serving people is the best way to be here and to stay here.
- Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.
