Aaron Brockett
- Mayor, City of Boulder
Aaron and his wife Cherry moved to Boulder in 2003. They raised their two children here and ran a small software development firm together for 20 years. After serving for 5 years on the city's Planning Board, Aaron was first elected to the city council in 2015, became mayor in November of 2021 and won re-election in 2023 to become the first directly elected mayor in Boulder history. In his time on city council he has focused on climate change, housing, transportation, economic vitality, social justice, and how to make Boulder a more just, equitable, thriving, and inclusive city.
My advice to students...
Never be afraid to take on a genuinely new challenge, even if it is way outside of your comfort zone! Look for ways that you can bring your unique skills and passions to bear on the problems that are most pressing in your community.
