Residence Hall Association

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) has been the voice and heartbeat of on-campus student life at the University of Colorado Boulder for 50+ years. Entirely student-led, RHA works by students, for students, to make our residence halls welcoming, engaging, and empowering spaces - truly a home away from home through advocacy, programming, and leadership opportunities.

Each year, RHA brings together over 50+ student leaders who plan events, advocate for residents’ needs, and create connections that last well beyond move-out day. Our leadership journey often begins with Community Council (COCO) - a student leadership opportunity that serves as the foundation for first-year involvement. COCO empowers residents to create educational programs, foster community in their halls, and advocate for meaningful changes, such as bringing free laundry to campus. From there, students can advance into larger campus leadership roles and even represent CU Boulder at regional and national conferences through the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). These opportunities open doors to travel, networking, and professional development that shape students’ futures.

We’re also proud to host one of the largest pre-arrival programs at CU -  Stampede Leadership Camp. This program is the entry point into our year-round Stampede Leadership programs, which include the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), RHA, and EcoReps. Each branch focuses on different strengths, from recognition and advocacy to sustainability and event planning, giving students a variety of ways to grow, lead, and make an impact.

Student Spotlight:
“Through RHA, I’ve found more than just a community - I’ve found my home. It’s helped me discover my voice, grow as a leader, and be part of something bigger than myself. From creating welcoming spaces on campus through COCO to representing our university at regional and national conferences, RHA has shown me the true power of student leadership, voice, & impact.” – Ofri Leshem (2025-26 Stampede Director of Leadership Development)
Whether hosting campus traditions, advocating for change, or inspiring future leaders, RHA ensures that our residence halls are more than just a place to live - they’re a place to belong. Live Here. Learn Here. Lead Here.
