Understanding CU’s Leadership Ecosystem
The University of Colorado has a diverse and extensive leadership ecosystem. This is the reason the Center for Leadership was created; to help provide resources, guidance, and coordination for the various affiliated leadership programs on campus. However, there are currently 33 affiliates and counting—that’s a lot of information to keep track of!
My project at the Center for Leadership is to aggregate all of the information about our affiliate programs so that we can better understand and serve them. So far, I have collected data on the different credentials, courses, and scholarships offered by our affiliate programs, and over the course of the Spring semester, I will be creating a central repository of information that will include program details such as courses, experiential learning opportunities, leadership faculty, funding, and outcomes. I would also love to conduct interviews about student experiences in their respective affiliate programs.
All of this data collection serves the purpose of allowing the CFL to better develop leaders, by providing them with the direction and resources they need to succeed. One of the goals of this program is to better share and coordinate events, courses, and opportunities among our affiliates; another is to create tools that point incoming students to programs they may be interested in. All this information will help the Center for Leadership to better support, connect, and elevate leadership programs at CU.
