Leadership Coaching for Students

The Center for Leadership is thrilled to announce a pilot program of professional coaches working directly with students in our affiliated leadership programs at the University of Colorado Boulder. In alignment with CFL objectives, fifteen professional leadership coaches from Colorado have each volunteered to coach a CU student for 10 to 12 hours during the 2022 Spring Semester. Services are offered free of charge to the student.
Coaching is different than mentorship. Coaches serve their clients by guiding a developmental journey. Coaches do not advise their clients or offer solutions. Instead, they support clients in finding their solutions. Typically a coaching program begins by exploring the outcomes most important to the client (student) and then identifying steps in achieving those outcomes. Coaches work with their clients by establishing lines of inquiry that help them tap into their own truth/wisdom. Additionally, coaches typically co-create daily practices and reflections with their clients that will help them achieve their objectives.
The Center for Leadership will evaluate the results from the pilot program to determine next steps to establishing a long term coaching program for CU students. Walt Morgan, a member of the Center's Executive Committee will be spearheading the initiative.
