Atmospheric chemistry • Atmospheric trace gas measurements • Biosphere-atmosphere interactions
My research area is in atmospheric chemistry. I am investigating the source and sink processes in forested areas that affect the cycling and budget of nitrogen oxides and ozone, two important reactive trace gases in the atmosphere.
I make measurements and collect data from direct field observations, as well as controlled experiments. I apply a multi-layer canopy chemical exchange model to analyze the data to understand how the bidirectional exchange of these trace gases occurs from leaf to canopy level, and how they affect the trace gas budget within and above the canopy.
