Research interests include Arctic sea ice and its role in the climate system; polar climate change and its impact on boreal marine and terrestrial environments; decadal studies using satellite remote-sensing data; century- and millennial-scale studies using historical and paleoceanography proxy records; quantitative data synthesis using time-series analysis; and contemporary changes in Arctic environments and sustainability, including cruise tourism.
