As we embrace the lovely fall showers, cozy evenings, seasonal festivities, and nature walks, we're thrilled to be settled into the fall semester. One of our biggest events this year is just around the corner, and we want to C-U there! Join us for a special talk by award-winning psychologist Dr. Angela Neal-Barnett on Oct. 16 at 4:30 p.m., who will explore the experience of being the "only" and its impact on both personal and professional life. The Anxiety of Being the OnlyUpcoming GAR Events

Being and "Only"—the only woman, the only person of color, the only one openly suffering from a mental or physical illness—can contribute to existing and promote the development of mental health issues. The event aims to provide insights and strategies for managing anxiety and enhancing leadership skills among students and faculty who classify as an "only" at CU Boulder.

Join us for an evening of fun, networking, and relaxation at the Office of Graduate Access and Retention Game Night. This event is designed to foster connections and community among GAR fellows in a casual, enjoyable setting, encouraging participants to unwind and build lasting relationships with peers. Snacks provided.
Scholarships and Fellowships

SHAPE America has awarded scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate student members majoring in the field of health, physical education, recreation or dance. The Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship, developed by the past presidents of SHAPE America to honor deserving students, is awarded to three undergraduate students and two graduate students in January of each year. All scholarships are presented at the SHAPE America National Convention & Expo held in the spring.

The Armenian American Medical Society strongly believes in investing in our future healthcare professionals, who will play a crucial role in improving the health and well-being of our community. Each year, the Armenian American Medical Society awards scholarships to qualified Armenian students enrolled in various healthcare education programs, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, mental health and allied health.
Award: $5,000
