Advisor: Honor Sachs • Michael is a first-year Ph.D. student in the History department with an interest in Race and Unfree Labor in Early America. His current project reviews wills produced in Virginia from 1611 - 1776 and examines the language, presentation, and descriptions of bound laborers to analyze the gradual development of racial distinctions in the colony. He is also a three-time fiction author with a fourth book forthcoming.
