Film Studies Program aspires to integrate the critical, historical and theoretical study of cinema, media and the visual arts, with artistic and commercial practices. Our program offers the degrees of BA and BAMA in critical film studies, and the BFA and MFA in film and video arts. Film Studies also offers an interdisciplinary MFA degree with the Department of Art and Art History.
Film Studies Screening facilities
Film Studies screening facilities are equipped with 16mm, 35mm, and DCP projection.
The International Film Series
The International Film Series screenings are $8 for General Admission, $7 for CU Students/Seniors over 65, and FREE for CU Film Majors.
The First Person Cinema
The First Person Cinema program, started in the 1950s, is the longest running experimental film show case of its kind in the world. Each semester we bring in visiting film and video artists to present their work to the campus community and the public.
