Artists are visualists. From film sets to dance studios to culinary arts, they always find a way to creatively display what they see or feel. Artists create things that evoke emotion whether it be a painting, photography, design, performance, film, sculpture or song. Because of the high demand for creativity in the business word, artists are able to bring their abilities to a number of different career paths.
Successful artists are able to adapt to various concepts and mediums while also leaving a mark of their individual style in every project. Developing this creative edge allows others to recognize and appreciate your work on a deeper level.
An artist’s work doesn’t always meet success on the first try. Oftentimes, it’s also met with criticism. Incorporating critiques and casting aside ones that aren’t helpful is an important skill that takes time to learn.
Because artists aren’t confined to an office setting and traditional business hours they need to devote as much time as necessary to complete their projects and have discipline to make sure they’re staying on track.

There are many student clubs and organizations on campus with a creative focus. Get started in a campus organization or student group that fits your artistic abilities.
