Your campus fitness guide
The CU Student Recreation Center is more than just a fitness facility on campus. Between guided meditation classes, competitive sports, nutrition services and the Outdoor Program, there are many options at The Rec to find your fit—and there is something for everyone! Here are some of the many ways to utilize The Rec this year.
De-stress by staying active
Physical activity, in any form, helps relieve stress and improve cognitive function. There are many different ways to alleviate stress at The Rec: Take a yoga class with your roommate, play a pick-up game of soccer in the turf gym, go for a swim in the Buff pool (closed until further notice) or do a functional training workout.
Make new friends
If you’re looking to meet other like-minded people, The Rec is the place to be. Find your community at CU through fitness classes, outdoor adventures or at fun, free events.
Join a team
Do you have a competitive streak? You’re not the only one! Join a competitive or recreational sports team, or enter a competition. They have opportunities for you to shine all year round.
Nurture a healthy mindset
College is a time of exploration, triumph, learning and fun, but we know this time is not without its challenges and pitfalls. There are health and wellness opportunities to help you find your center, foster positive body image and build healthy habits—make an appointment with a massage therapist, get a physical therapy assessment at the Musculoskeletal Clinic or learn how to maximize your nutrition.
Try something new
The antidote to boredom is variety! Explore the beautiful Front Range, develop a new skill, try a new workout, learn from an expert or just play. Whatever you choose to do, we hope you’ll take advantage of the amazing and wildly diverse opportunities at The Rec.
All full-fee paying undergraduate students are automatically members of The Rec. Want a comprehensive guide to the Rec Center? Learn more.
