The best opportunity for me at CU has been the personal and academic growth I have seen in myself. I came to CU Boulder with some previous college experience, so I thought I was more than prepared. However, I have grown so much, even though  I have been here for a short period of time.

After I got accepted into CU Boulder, I was so excited, but that excitement faded rather quickly. The financial burden of attending college kept overshadowing all the hard work I had put in, all the nights spent studying, and all the happy tears I had shed after opening my acceptance letter to CU. When I opened the scholarships page and saw that there were people who had recognized my hard work and had awarded me a scholarship, all I could do was cry. The BBC scholarship was one of the first scholarships that was awarded to me, and it made me realize that going to school to pursue higher education was possible. The BBC Scholarship not only eased my financial burden, but it also made me realize that my hopes and dreams weren't just mine alone; I had a whole community of supporters behind me that pushed me to pursue greater things.

I am currently on the pre-med track, and I plan to go to medical school somewhere on the East Coast to pursue medicine.
