The Water Resources Book Club (WRBC) is a newly revitalized organization which aims to bring together people from different departments to foster lively discussions of water-related issues in the modern world! This semester will be reading and discussing Where the Water Goes: Life and Death Along the Colorado River by David Owen, an eye-opening account of where our water comes from, and where it all goes.
The WRBC will meet every two weeks to discuss 1-2 chapters of the book. Time and location will be decided upon by members, and books and food will be supplied by the club (format and type of food is also TBD by members).
Our opening event is a screening of Chinatown, a movie inspired by the California Water Wars, at 5:45pm on Tuesday, September 17th in SEEC's Sievers Room S228 (directly following the Hydrologic Sciences Info Meeting) where we will provide more information about the club and have a sign-up sheet available. If you are not able to make it and would still like to join the club, please send me an email!
