Clear Comfort is a Boulder-based company specializing in non-chlorine alternative water treatment processes for pools and spas. They are looking for a graduate student to intern for 20 to 40 hours per week at their office in Boulder this summer. Pay would be between $17-20 dollars an hour. The selected candidate will help plan and carry out testing to validate, through experimentation, the advanced oxidation system chemistry benefits. Projects might include but are not limited to: Microbial inactivation testing (e.g., Cryptosporidium, Legionella), interaction of oxidants with chlorine and chloramines, chlorine destruction, and disinfection byproducts. Other areas of interest are ongoing product development for a tool that measures oxidative strength of the system. The Clear Comfort staff will work with the candidate to provide guidance and feedback for all projects. Pending performance, this position could continue into the Fall and Spring.
