Participate in YOU'RE@CU - Undergraduate Research Program - Fall 2017

Now that the Spring semester is over, we are hoping that you are finally relaxing but also thinking ahead as to how to increase your involvement in research opportunities; gain real engineering, computing, and/or physics experience for your resume; and potentially get experience working in a lab and learning about potentially pursuing a graduate degree.  If this sounds interesting to you, please consider applying for the YOU’RE@CU program - where you could work in a research lab in the College of Engineering and the Applied Sciences this fall semester.

This program requires you to take a 1 credit hour seminar in the Fall 2017 semester, where you will work with a graduate student who will mentor and guide you through a research project for ~3-5 hours / week.  We are getting some really exciting projects lined up for this program in areas including tissue biomechanics & bioengineering, materials science, aerospace engineering,  computer science, electrical engineering, and others…  There are many options and you get a chance to meet all of the mentors at the start of the semester and work with us to assign you to a project.

Finally, to participate in this program, a successful applicant will be a sophomore or junior engineering student:

  • Have completed one semester of engineering coursework, including one CU science course (e.g. CHEN 1211 or PHYS 1110) and be enrolled in a second science course during the program
  • Have completed one of the following math courses: APPM 1340, 1345, 1350, 1360, 2350, or 2360
  • Minimum of 2.75 overall GPA
  • One full semester of engineering at CU-Boulder, if you are a transfer student
  • Preference given to those who have completed GEEN 1300, 1400 or 1500 or other departmental introductory courses
