CVEN 4834-001/CVEN 5834-002: Introduction to Environmental Health for Engineers

Course Rationale: In this course, we will consider environmental and global health sciences as a cornerstone to public health. The course will focus on chemical, physical, and biological agents in the environment that influence human health. The course will cover the various environmental health tools (i.e. risk assessment), used to assess constituents of concern. We will also touch on the five major disciplines of public health practice (health services management, epidemiology, biostatistics, health behavior/health promotion, and environmental heatlh) to help students better understand the general field of public health.
