Design and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Communities Spring 2016
M 9:30-‐10:30am, WF 9:30-‐11:10am
Williams Village North, room 181A
Dear student,
If you like the idea of working on a project that has the potential to help real people, consider enrolling in a special section of COEN 1410
(Design: Sustainable Communities). This course is accepted as equivalent to GEEN 1400 (First Year Engineering Projects).
This special section of COEN 1410 will be taught by Dr. Lupita Montoya of CEAE Department and will focus on the design of simple passive solar heating systems for real Latino and Navajo communities. In addition to learning the process of design, students in this section will be introduced to principles of entrepreneurship needed to take these designs to market.
We are looking for "out-of-the-box" thinkers who want to change the world, not just talk about it. Details about this course are included in the attached flyer. Contact Dr. Montoya if you have any questions. Have a great winter break!
