The CU Boulder School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). In 2013, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) merged with Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) to form the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).  Data on our candidates' performance, the quality of our educator preparation programs, and the impact our candidates have on schools and students is provided to CAEP through an intensive program review to maintain accreditation. The review process occurs approximately every seven years (last completed in Fall 2013).

Data Collection

The School of Education systematically collects critical data on our candidates' performances and experiences throughout their programs and into their career.  Comparisons are made over time, between programs, and against other benchmarks (i.e. CU data, statewide data, or national assessment data) whenever possible, which allows for the continual assessment and improvement of our programs.
